I'r Aipht daeth Iesu'm gwared
o dir caethiwed du,
Yspeiliodd yr holl Aiphtiaid
rh'odd dlysau têg i mi,
Des â llaw uchel allan,
dihengais rhag y pla,
Yn y cyfyngder mwyaf
mi brofais Dduw yn dda.
Pan oedd hen Pharao greulon
ar fy ol yn gyrru'n hy,
A minnau mewn cyfyngder,
heb obaith o un tu;
Fe chwariodd rhaluniaethau
yr hollalluog Dduw,
Fe drefnodd fforddi'm cadw
er gwaetha' Pharao'n fyw.
Ce's ddw'r o'r graig i yfed,
i dorri'm syched mawr,
Ce's beunydd fara i'w fwytta,
o'r nef y daeth i lawr;
Ce's delyn tu yma i angau,
fy holl gystuddiau ffodd,
I ganu i'r Oen fu farw,
mae'n briod wrth fy modd.
Gostegodd d'ranau Sinai,
ni chlywaf mwy 'mo'u 'stwr,
Cyfiawnder ga's ei dalu
gan Iesu, canol Wr;
Gwir heddwch wy'n feddiannu
ynghlwyfau'r Oen heb fraw,
Daeth Iesu o'r bedd i fynu
a'm pardwn yn ei law.
Trwy waid a chlwyfau Mrenin
ce's berffaith wir iachad,
Fe gludodd Amaleciaid
fyrddiynau tan fy nhra'd;
Hen Og a chewri Basan
gwympasant oll gan fraw,
Holl frenhiniaethau Canaan
r'odd Iesu dan fy llaw.
'Nol treuliwyf yn y bywyd
flynyddau rif y gwlith,
Ymhlith y dorf na fedr
un tafod rifo byth;
Yn gwel'd yr Oen fu farw
i'm cadw cyn fy mod,
Bydd cân mor felus i mi
a'r funud gynta' erio'd.

To Egypt came Jesus to deliver me
from a land of black captivity,
He despoiled all the Egyptians
he gave fine ornaments to me,
I came out with a high hand,
I escaped from the plague,
In the greatest straits
I proved God good.
When cruel old Pharaoh was
after me driving proudly,
And I in straits,
without hope on any side;
The providence of the almighty
God came into play,
He arranged a way to preserve me
despite the worst of Pharaoh alive.
I got water from the rock to drink,
to break my great thirst,
Daily I got bread to eat,
from heaven it came down;
I got a harp this side of death,
all my afflictions fled,
To sing to the Lamb who died,
he is a spouse to my delight.
He calmed the thunders of Sinai,
I no longer hear any of their tumult,
Righteousness got paid
by Jesus, the mediating man;
True peace I am possessing in the
wounds of the Lamb without fear,
Jesus came up from the grave
with my pardon in his hand.
Through the blood and wounds of my King
I got perfect, true, health,
He brought myriads
of Amalekites under my feet;
Old Og and giants of Bashan
all fell with terror,
All the kingdoms of Canaan
Jesus put under my hand.
After spending in the life
years as numerous as the dew,
Amongst the throng that no tongue
can ever number;
Seeing the Lamb who died
to preserve me before I was,
There will be a song so sweet to me
from the first ever minute.
